Create a visual system for a pop-up event based on existing branding.

I sat in on a meeting with the owner and lead baristas who were discussing their ideas for this pop-up event. The team wanted to create an atmosphere to bring the experience of the Roarin' 20s. I created this mood board based on the their ideas for a creative direction.
The visual system for this pop-up event creates a sleek, yet sophisticated experience. The dark tones are used to emphasize the mysterious and regal experience of the modern speakeasy. Pairing the display typeface Sutro Open with the classic Futura from the 1920s, I created a visual system that bold, yet still displays order.
The special menu for this speakeasy event continues with the same visual system, yet contrasts from the poster with the use of a lighter background. The menu was printed on French paper to emphasize the importance of craft and detail that went into the preparation of this event.
The poster used in promotion for this event emphasizes the sleek atmosphere of the modern speakeasy, while also hinting at the retro vibe through the use of a halftone texture.
